Gallows Point Beaumaris Isle of Anglesey LL58 8YL

Fishing tackle and bait has been sold from Gallows Point for 20 years but recently the point has been comprehensively redeveloped allowing Anglesey Bait Centre to expand rapidly. As our name implies, we always carry a wide range of fresh and blast frozen baits in stock. We also stock all leading makes of fishing tackle. Our prices are extremely competitive and we are happy to quote a price for any item of fishing tackle. The shop is open every day including holidays and our opening hours are very flexible. We can provide a 24 hour service with bait and tackle collection outside of normal shop hours by arrangement. Other facilities at Gallows Point includes boat chandlery with boat storage area and launching slipway, a petrol service station selling hot drinks and snacks. At Gallows Point we try to provide a one-stop angling centre for all visitors.

We set up Beef Direct in 2000 because we were fed up of ‘being taken for a ride’ by the supermarkets that dictated prices to the abattoirs for their beef and lamb. As Farmers’ Markets were starting to become popular, we literally ‘took the bull by the horns’ and decided to have a go at selling our own Welsh Black beef and Welsh lamb. Apart for the period of the ‘foot and mouth’ outbreak we have not looked back since!

DeriMon (translated from Welsh means The Oaks of Anglesey) the name is derived from the fact that our property Deri Isaf (meaning Lower Oaks) is derived from the Welsh name for oak derwen much of this part of Anglesey was an oak forest in times gone by and many place names are linked to this fact.
