Anlgesey Sea Zoo
The Anglesey Sea Zoo is an exhibition of living sealife from around the coast of Anglesey which was founded in 1983 on the site of an oyster hatchery. It has since developed every year to become an important visitor attraction. We are open every day from the beginning of April to the end of October, and at least every weekend throughout the Winter, and at any other time for groups by arrangement.
The Anglesey Sea Zoo is Wales largest marine aquarium, nestling on the shores of the Menai Strait. With over 150 species, the Sea Zoo has re-created the habitats of the fauna and flora found around Anglesey and the North Wales coastline. From the intricacy and complexity of the invertebrates in the Bone Free Zone, your tour takes you through a Shipwreck, a walkover the Shark Pool and then on to the wonders of the Open Ocean. Our underwater camera gives you a fish's eye view of the Fish Forest looking out as well as members of your family looking in! We aim to provide an exciting yet educational visit, incorporating our conservation efforts to preserve our local marine environment.
Aquarium staff are actively involved in local and international conservation, working actively in over six countries. Our only tropical displays center on this conservation work, with all other exhibits celebrating Welsh marine life.
Our Shop has gifts to suit all ages and pockets. For that extra special something why not visit the Pearls Shack and pick your own Pearl Oyster. Learn about how pearls form and have your pearl valued and set in a range of gold and silver jewellery. Our outside facilities, including an Radio Controlled Boats, Aquablasta, Crazy Golf, Adventure Playground, and an enormous Octojump Bouncy Castle make Anglesey Sea Zoo a great family day out
