Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Menai Strait with its medieval castle dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse. It is also a major centre for yachting and also boasts two golf courses within one mile of the town
If you come across the Menai or 'old' bridge onto the island you will pass a sign welcoming you to 'Mon Mam Cymru' literally to Anglesey - Mother of Wales. A generation ago Anglesey was that - as a rich farming community her produce could feed the population of Wales as a mother feeds her children. Our farmers are still here but Anglesey's evolution means it is now a popular holiday destination offering a huge range of accommodation, places to visit and things to do all the year round.
